Election Day

Absentee Ballots

Paper absentee applications can be obtained in the City Clerk’s office, City Hall 2201 University Blvd. Or download a PDF here.

Applications are due by September 19 at 4:30 p.m.
Ballots are due by September 23 at 4:30 p.m.
September 23 is the last day a voter can apply for and
vote on an emergency absentee ballot
Ballots may be delivered by hand to the City Clerk’s Office
Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ballots may also be mailed. If an absentee ballot is returned
by mail or commercial carrier it must be postmarked by 
September 23 and received by noon on the day of the election

ABOUT

The City Clerk

The City Clerk is the local elections administrator and coordinates with the County of Tuscaloosa and the City’s election consultant in the organization and conduct of Municipal Elections.

This includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Preparation of necessary resolutions calling General or Special Municipal Elections 
  • The coordination of the candidate qualifying process, ballot preparation 
  • Recruitment and training of election workers 
  • Canvassing of election results and subsequent certification
